Touchdown Club of Southern New Jersey honors its 2024 All-South Jersey Teams
The Dr. Warren J. McClain Touchdown Club of Southern New Jersey held its annual All-South Jersey banquet the night of December 11, 2024 at Adelphia Restaurant in Deptford.
First-team honorees were selected by the club for the Large Schools (Groups 3, 4, 5 and Non-Publics in the West Jersey League American, Continental and Constitution Divisions) and Small Schools (Groups 1, 2, and the remaining Non-Publics).
Selections were honored by the club for dinner and a celebration of their achievements in the 2024 season.
Honorees received plaques and trophies were given to Glassboro (Group 1) and Winslow Township (Group 4) to commemorate state championship wins.
The West Jersey Football Coaches Association awarded four $1,000 scholarships to first-team selections that were seniors who excelled in the classroom. Those recipients were: George Branin of Riverside Township, Nick Medina of Holy Spirit, John Prokapus of Shawnee and Joe Tenaglia of St. Augustine Preparatory.
The WJFCA also gave a $1,000 scholarship to the club’s Unsung Hero of the year, Cole Allen of Williamstown.
The New Jersey Football Officials Association – South Chapter also gave $1,000 scholarships to Dylan Gould of Washington Township and Darwin Walker of Cherokee.
Rowan University named Ahmad Gantt, a defenisve lineman from Cinnaminson, as its Player of the Year.
For his work with the Clayton community in youth football, high school football, track and field and numerous Special Olympics volunteerisms, Joshua DeFrance was named Person of the Year.
